Henry Mancini Selects Great Songs Of Christmas - 1978

This record is a powerhouse of great voices. Karen Carpenter, Ella, Kate Smith, Leontyne Price. There is a lot of talent here. This is fairly easy record to find in the thrift store record bins and well worth the dollar. There really aren't any bad songs and you'll be pleased for sure.

Jingling Brass is a great track and for those who have given the SAP Music Christmas mix a listen will recognize it as one of the tracks on this years mix. It's a fine mixture or yule tide merriment and banjo. I know. It does sound like a perfect combo.

The Ed Ames track has a great electric piano thing going on that reminds me of the opening keyboards in the Partridge Family theme song. That should also give you a little reference for the 70's pop sound of the record. Even tracks like the one from Bing Crosby have a distinct 70's flare.

Enjoy!
