Christmas With Eddy Arnold and Henry Mancini

I think Eddy Arnold has a voice made for Christmas songs. Warm, smooth like a winter blanket. This record is an odd duck. It is a combination with Henry Mancini. It's not that they do songs together, the album just alternates between the two artists. I'm pretty sure all of the Eddy Arnold songs can be found on "Christmas With Eddy Arnold" which is a great Christmas record.

Eddy's version of "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" is by far my favorite version of the song. It has heaping helpings of nostalgia and just sounds like a quintessential old time Christmas song.

The Mancini numbers are okay, standard really. They are listenable and all, but there are no revelations. They are just functional. The real reasons to listen to the record are for the Arnold numbers.

Enjoy!
